Deeside Timberframe has been appointed to deliver a major affordable housing scheme in East Cowton, North Yorkshire—marking another significant step in our continued growth across the UK.
Commissioned by Adderstone Group and delivered on behalf of Karbon Homes Housing Association, the development will provide 68 much-needed homes in this rural village setting. The project includes 10 bungalows and 58 houses ranging from one to four bedrooms, all designed to meet high energy performance standards.
This latest win reflects our growing reputation beyond Scotland, as Deeside Timberframe was awarded the contract through a competitive tender process—responsible for the full manufacture, supply and erect of high-performance timber frame kits. Works began in March 2025, with the full programme of kits due for completion before the end of the year.
As part of a wider Homes England initiative to deliver over 2,000 new affordable homes across the North East and Yorkshire by 2026, the East Cowton development is underpinned by sustainability. All homes will feature solar PV panels and air source heat pumps, with timber frame construction chosen to support energy efficiency, speed, and programme certainty.
“Credit to the design and installation team at East Cowton – the whole process has gone seamlessly,” said Jamie Stainthorpe, Design Manager at Adderstone Group.
Following a strong start on site and positive client feedback, Deeside Timberframe is already in the quoting process for three additional developments.
