At Deeside Timberframe, we’re always looking for practical ways to support the wellbeing of our team and contribute to a more sustainable and responsible future.
As part of that commitment, we’ve recently installed AquAid watercoolers across our offices. Staying hydrated throughout the day helps our team stay focused and energised—but this initiative goes beyond workplace wellbeing.
Through our partnership with AquAid, each watercooler installed includes a donation to The Africa Trust, which funds the construction of sustainable water pumps in areas where access to clean water is limited. Known as Elephant Pumps, these are based on a simple yet effective rope and washer system. One of these pumps is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf, and will provide safe drinking water to a local community.
Our name will be displayed on the pump, and we’ll be sharing a photo and message of thanks from the village once the installation is complete.
To date, AquAid and The Africa Trust have built over 10,000 Elephant Pumps and contributed more than £23 million to water and sanitation projects across several African countries.
We’re pleased to support this initiative and to see how a small, everyday workplace decision can contribute to wider positive change.
