North Tolsta, Isle of Lewis

In the serene setting of North Tolsta on the Isle of Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Greenstock embarked on the journey of constructing their dream home, aptly named The Old Dairy. After evaluating multiple building methods, they chose a timber frame construction facilitated by Deeside Timberframe, which proved to be the optimal blend of cost efficiency and customizable luxury.

Custom Design and Efficient Construction

Faced with the Isle of Lewis’s harsh weather conditions, the Greenstocks required a home that could withstand the elements while embodying their vision of a spacious, open-plan living area. Our expertise allowed for a bespoke design that included high-specification features without compromising the architectural integrity of their vision.

Enhanced Insulation and High-End Features

The construction of The Old Dairy featured exceptional thermal efficiency, boasting a U-value of 0.12 W/m²K, thanks to highly insulated wall panels and triple-glazed NTech windows. The design incorporated vaulted ceilings, an oak staircase, doors, finishings, and a state-of-the-art heat recovery and ventilation system. Underfloor heating on both levels added to the home’s comfort and energy efficiency.

An Aspirational Home

The successful completion of The Old Dairy stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering tailor-made solutions that align with their clients’ aspirations. The Greenstocks’ satisfaction with their new bespoke home underscores our ability to navigate complex requirements and deliver a product that not only meets but exceeds expectations.
